Homemade Chicken Stock is an easy to make freezer staple and great way to use leftover chicken bones.
My Granny would always make Homemade Chicken Stock.
I prefer making Chicken Stock with leftover Roasted Chicken Bones the best flavor but it can be made with raw chicken.
If you don't have enough bones to make broth you can always keep a freezer bag of chicken or turkey bones and vegetable scrapes frozen until ready to use.
Homemade Chicken Stock is great to keep in the freezer until needed.

How to make Homemade Chicken Stock using roasted chicken bones from Serena Bakes Simply From Scratch.

ingredients:
- 2 whole Roasted Chicken Bones, Meat and Skin Removed
- 1 whole Onion, Quartered
- 4 cloves Garlic, Peeled
- 2 sprigs Fresh Rosemary Or 2 teaspoons Dried
- 3 sprigs Fresh Thyme or 2 teaspoons Dried
- 2 whole Bay Leaves
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric
- 16 cups Water
instructions:
How to cook How to Make Homemade Chicken Stock
- In a large stock pot add chicken bones, onion, garlic, springs of rosemary and thyme, bay leaves, salt, pepper, turmeric, and water.
- Bring to a simmer and cover. Cook for 1 1/2 hours.
- Remove chicken bones and strain broth through a sieve or kitchen cheesecloth to remove remaining remnants.
- Taste broth and add additional salt as needed.
- If time allows refrigerate broth until ready to use and skim fat off top once it solidifies.
