Easy to make Baked Chicken Hot Wings in a tangy sauce. These are crispy on the outside, yet juicy on the inside.

Baked Chicken Hot Wings are all the rage in our house for as long as I can remember.

Colt and I have been baking these bad boys since before we were even married. They show up on the dinner rotation on the regular, and is in the top 3 of Colts most requested dinners.

Baked hot Wings are tossed with a tangy sauce before baking up to a crisp on the outside. I baste them a couple times to ensure the outside cooks up golden brown and crispy.

Then I like to coat them in half Franks Hot Sauce and Cholula Hot Sauce. For hotter wings you can add a hotter hot sauce. Colt occasionally will mix it up with whatever other hot sauces we have in the fridge.

I find using at least 2 hot sauces gives the hot wings a delicious depth of flavor.

If you love Chicken Hot Wings as much as we do you might love these Fried Hot Wings, Sticky Chipotle Lime Baked Chicken Wings, Boneless Hot Wings, Roasted Strawberry Chipotle Barbecue Hot Wings, and if you're in the mood for something spicy but don't want wings Buffalo Ranch Popcorn is so good!

Baked Hot Wing Sauce in a glass measuring cup.

Mix all together:
  • 3 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 2 tablespoons Melted Butter
  • 1 tablespoon White Wine Vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon Granulated Garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 cup Hot Sauce
Tip: My favorite Hot Sauce is half Franks Hot Sauce and Half Cholula Hot Sauce. If I'm wanting to make hotter wings I might add some Tabasco Sauce or another spicier favorite.

Baked Hot Wing sauce being poured over Chicken Wing Pieces.

Toss sauce with about 3 lbs of Chicken Wing Pieces. I didn't have time to defrost so I just tossed with the sauce straight out of the freezer.

Chicken Wing Pieces mixed with hot sauce in a stainless steel bowl.

Mix well.

Place in a large baking pan in a 425 degree preheated oven.

Brush with the juice in the bottom of pan after 15 minutes. Repeat every 20 minutes.

For hotter wings brush with additional hot sauce 20 minutes before done.

Bake a total of 1 hour 20 minutes for frozen wings and 40 minutes to an hour for fresh until the skin of the wings become crisp and are cooked through.

Serve with Blue Cheese Dressing or Ranch. Enjoy!

I love baking wings and also experiment with different kinds of sauce. I do finish with a bit of broil to get that charred look. Yours look delightful. Yumm!

Thanks so much Libby!

Hi, You can find Cholula over in the Mexican Food Section of the grocery store with the hot sauces and salsa. You could substitute anyother hot sauce you prefer, I just happen to like the taste of Cholula. Thanks, Serena
