Ground Beef Stroganoff is a quick and easy dinner recipe made in one pot in 20 minutes. One Pot Ground Beef Stroganoff is a family favorite dinner idea. Egg noodles are cooked in beef broth with mushrooms, onions, ground beef, worcestershire sauce, and seasonings. Then sour cream is mixed in for a delicious easy dinner recipe.

A down shot of Ground Beef Stroganoff in a stainless steel pan.

Ground Beef Stroganoff is one of my favorite quick, easy and inexpensive dinner recipes. It's a favorite since it only uses one pan making clean up a breeze.

I've been experimenting over the last few months to perfect an easier version of our families all time most requested dinner.  The kids 90 percent of the time request Beef Stroganoff for their Birthdays and any other time they can but my traditional recipe takes a bit more prep then this easy to make version and the hamburger keeps it budget friendly for an easy to make weeknight meal done in under 25 minutes.

I also love that every things done in one pot like the good old Hamburger Helper stuff but this is so much better, and just as easy to make.

I am still in love with my traditional Beef Stroganoff Recipe From Scratch but this is my go to recipe for a quick weeknight meal. It's guaranteed to please.

Here's how to make one pot Beef Stroganoff with ground beef:

Brown Ground Beef in a pan with sliced onions and garlic added.

In a large deep skillet or pot with a lid add:
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 pound of Lean Ground Beef.
Cook until ground beef is brown.

Add:
  • 1 whole Sliced Onion
  • 3 cloves Minced Garlic
Cook until onion starts to caramelize.

Sliced Mushrooms added to ground beef and onions in stainless steel pan to make Ground Beef Stroganoff.

Add 8 ounces Sliced Mushrooms and cook until mushrooms are softened.

Egg Noodles, Thyme, Worcestershire Sauce, and Egg Noodles added to cooked Ground Beef for Ground Beef Stroganoff.

Stir in:
  • 4 cups Beef Broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon Thyme
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 12 ounces Egg Noodles
Stir until well combined and cover. Egg Noodles may not be full submerged and that's ok. Cover pot and bring to a simmer, stir and turn temperature to low.

Cook for 6 minutes. Stir again and recover pot, cook an additional 6 minutes.

Cook for a total of 12 minutes or until noodles are tender.

Sour Cream being added to cooked noodle mixture for Ground Beef Stroganoff.

Remove from heat and stir in 1 1/2 cups Sour Cream until well combined.

Side shot of Ground Beef Stroganoff in a stainless steel pan.

Garnish with Chopped Parsley or Green Onions and serve immediately.

Hamburger Beef Stroganoff is an easy meal for a busy weeknight that we make all the time!

This looks so delicious! My family doesn't eat red meat any more, but I have fond memories of beef stroganoff from early childhood. Do you think this would work with ground turkey/chicken broth, or would it be lacking in flavor?

Glad this has more than a tablespoon of ground beef! Looks great!

I loved Beef Stroganoff growing up but I've kind of forgotten about it - till now! This sounds like a delicious meal for a chilly evening and it's great that you've come up with a simple version.

I think it would work fine with ground turkey or chicken and broth. The flavor will be a little different but I'm sure it will still be good!
