Brown Butter Blondies With Peanut Butter Swirl are a delicious dessert recipe. These are great for Super Bowl Parties and 4th of July.

I couldn't decide last week chocolate chip or peanut butter, cookies or bars. So I went with Brown Butter Blondies With Peanut Butter Swirl because anything with peanut butter swirl is eternally life changing in my book.

These bars have everything I love in a dessert.

A thick chewy chocolate chip bar with swirls of peanut butter deliciousness that make for a gorgeous presentation without much effort.

We couldn't keep our hands out of the pan. We may or may not have eaten over half the pan before Colt could take a few finished photos but just for the record part of that was due to running out of parchment paper.

Sometimes things happen and my kids usually aren't super excited to wait an extra day to enjoy dessert just for a picture so sometimes I compromise. Sometimes I'm on top of my game and I hide dessert until I have finished photos but that didn't happen on this occasion because the kids could smell these Brown Butter Blondies With Peanut Butter Swirl before they even entered the house.

Be warned these don't last long!

Here's how to make these delicious Blondies with Peanut Butter Swirl:
Brown Butter added to cold butter in a mixing bowl for Blondie Brownies with Peanut Butter Swirl.
In a small skillet brown 1 cup Butter, swirl pan to promote even browning.

Add brown butter to mixing bowl and add 1/4 cup Cubed Cold Butter.

Mix on low speed until butter is melted.

Brown Butter with sugar, brown sugar, vanilla and salt beaten until sugar dissolves for Blondies Brownies.

  • 1 1/4 cup Packed Brown Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Vanilla
  • 3/4 teaspoon Salt
Beat mixture until sugar is dissolved.

2 Eggs and 2 Egg Yolks beaten together in a glass measuring cup for Brown Butter Blondies.

Beat 2 whole Eggs and 2 Egg Yolks together. Add egg mixture to butter/sugar mixture and beat on high speed for 30 seconds. Allow mixture to rest for 3 minutes.

Repeat mixing for 30 seconds and resting for 3 minutes until batter become thick and yellow.
Baking Soda added to Brown Butter Blondie Batter.

Add 3/4 teaspoons baking soda and beat on high speed another 30 seconds. Allow mixture to rest 3 minutes.

Brown Butter Blondies Batter with Chocolate Chips in a mixing bowl.

On low speed mix in 2 3/4 cups All-Purpose or Whole Wheat Pastry Flour until combined.

Add 2 cups Semi-Sweet or Dark Chocolate Chips and stir until well incorporated.

Peanut Butter, Powdered Sugar, and Vanilla in a small orange bowl for Blondies with Peanut Butter Swirl.

In a small bowl stir together:
  • 3/4 cup Peanut Butter
  • 2 tablespoons Powdered Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla
Stir until well combined.

Peanut Butter Filling dropped on top of Blondies in a pan.

Butter a 9"x13" pan and spread cookie dough evenly over bottom of pan.

I used a small cookie scoop and dropped peanut butter mixture in 12 equally spaced mounds but 2 spoons would work also.

Peanut Butter Filling Swirled into Blondies Brownies.

Run a knife in a long S shape going the length of the pan and then repeat going the width of the pan to form peanut butter swirl.

Bake in a 350 degree oven for 27-30 minutes until edges are brown but center is still slightly loose.

Cool completely before serving.

My daughter loves blondies so I'm always trying a new recipe. This one is so close to perfect. Never thought I'd say this but they're a little too rich. I'm going to make them again and leave out some of the butter. The brown butter is always worth the time it takes to make it.
